New 9 inch thick concrete was poured to handle heavy loads including water hauling trucks from volunteer fire departments.  The 'curvature' and 'blending' with the existing ramp was also altered to better accommodate larger boat trailers.  Along with these lanes, a 'Dry Hydrant' was installed to assist fire departments both in summer and winter.  They now just park a 'pumper' on these lanes, hook up to the 'hydrant', and they can fill up to 5 tankers without having to place a suction line into the harbor.  Rayland Marina likes to be a 'good neighbor'.
